The 15th Annual Utah State Instrument Championships will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 31th, June 1st. and 2nd 2013 in conjunction with the annual Ogden Music Festival; presented by OFOAM (Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music.) There are nine contests, with five "Open" divisions and four "Novice" divisions, featuring Flatpick Guitar, Fingerstyle Guitar, Bluegrass Fiddle, Banjo and Mandolin.
The Contests will be held on the main stage of the Ogden Music Festival and will begin promptly at 5:00 PM on Friday the 31st and at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday & Sunday, the 1st and 2nd. Contest details are listed online at www.iamaweb.org.
We are pleased to announce early sponsorship commitments from Founder’s Title Company, the Walnut Valley Festival, The Acoustic Musician, Nay's Custom Leather, Oliphant Fiddles & Bows, Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music (OFOAM), Salt Lake City Sound Guys and the Intermountain Acoustic Music Association, under which the USIC is organized.

The combined total of contestants for each instrument contest will be limited to the first 20 paid entrants.
The Novice category has no age restriction; however this is intended for beginner to intermediate players with only a few years’ experience. Likewise the Open category is open to all ages. These Contests are registered with the State of Utah and are sanctioned by the Walnut Valley Association, Winfield, Kansas, which hosts the National Championships in Bluegrass Music.
To enter: please submit a non-refundable entry fee of $15.00 for the Open Division and $10.00 for the Novice Division contests. Visit www.iamaweb.org, click on USIC and you will find links to both online registration through Eventbrite or a downloadable PDF Mail-in Registration Form. Online and mail-in entries must be received no later than May 24th, 2013. Registration will be available onsite at the festival but is conditional on registration pre-sales and may not be available in all divisions. (Remember limit of the first paid 20contestants)
Day-of-event fees increase to $15.00 for the Novice Division and $20.00 for the Open Division.
